Theodore Parker writes to Convers Francis in regards to a bible passage comparing the pre-existence of souls to that of Jesus Christ. He discusses the difference between the classical view and the lexical view of the bible. He writes, "Do not suppose I have any disposition to undervalue its Bible. I only want the people to understand it as it is."
