Elizabeth Niles writes to Maria Weston Chapman sending a small sum of money raised to purchase materials to be made into articles for the anti-slavery fair. She and her sisters want to visit her and "take instructions as to the manner of making articles for the Fair, but protracted sickness has prevented us, and we fear to delay any longer." They ask her for directions on cutting garments. Her mother offers to knit children's socks. She also writes that they received the petitions Maria sent and she and her sisters are planning on obtaining signatures for them.
