Lucia Kingman, the corresponding secretary of the North Bridgewater Female Anti-Slavery Society, writes to William Lloyd Garrison explaining that "at the time Mr. [Henry Brewster] Stanton was here and lectured" they gave him "$25.50 viz from the treasury of the A[nti] S[lavery] Society $13.50 from th Sewing Society $10.00 from the Reading Society $2.00." Kingman says they thought it would all go the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society but since they "suppose that it was not credited" to the society they have detailed "the manner in which we have disposed of our funds."
