Elizur Wright Jr. writes to Amos A. Phelps praising him for his anti-slavery circular which was "highly acceptable. The names above were obtained among the clergymen who attended our anti-slavery convention." He discusses the collection of names from other abolitionists. He discusses the passage of resolutions prohibiting the discussion of abolition and colonization "would have been disastrous, if not fatal."
