1868
Thomas Russell, the Collector of the port of Boston, writes to J.S. Love enclosing "the formal demand" (not included) and instructing Love to give the original to [Wendell] Phillips if possible, but if not, then to leave it at his house and give a copy to "C[harles]. K. Whipple". He also advises that it would "be well to add ... a copy of the vote directing the demand to be made and directing the President to sign the same."
